[put_em_back]

I was infected a week or so ago and I tried to clean everything out using Spybot, Adaware, Trendmicro and McAfee.

I've tried to delete the Internet Explorer directories and files. When I delete IEXPLORER.EXE, it is deleted and it reappears in 10 seconds or less. Watching the task manager, I noticed that Winlogon.exe runs everytime the IEXPLORER.EXE file reappears.

So I tracked the down the Winlogon.exe and renamed it. I seached the HD for winlogon.exe and deleted the ones not in the system32 directory. I then renamed winlogon.exe to winlogon1.exe. After I did that, the winlogon.exe file reappeared - and the winlogon1.exe is still there.

Thank you for posting the new log! In this case, IEXPLORE.exe is a legitimate process (notice it's located in Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.exe) Now, it would be a different story if this was running from a different folder. I could tell you had a window open when you ran HiJackThis on the new log because of the "iexplore.exe" file that is in the running processes!
winlogon.exe is also a valid process (located in the Windows\system32\winlogon.exe). So there is no need to delete or modify these. If you want to do a little "experiment" to see what I'm talking about, close ALL windows then just hit ctrl alt delete to bring up the task manager. Click on "processes". Notice there is only an explorer.exe file and iexplore.exe is not there. Now, keep the task manager open and open an Internet Explorer window. You will now see "iexplore.exe" pop up. Open more Internet Explorer windows and you will see more "iexplore.exe" pop up. They will disappear when you close the windows. Someone will be back ASAP to help you clean it up.
