I recently built a computer and have everything except a few things running. The device manager does not show anything for an ethernet card, not even an uninstalled driver. I installed the driver with the disk that came with my mobo but it still says nothing. Also, my computer gives me an error every time i try to install my cable modem to use the usb drive. So the ethernet doesnt work and the usb doesnt work with the cable modem so i have no way to go online. any help is appreciated, thanks.

is the ethernet card onboard or is it a pci card?
if it's onboard go to the bios and make sure that it's enabled there
