When I create a document in Microsoft Word and save it, then when I go to retrieve it, it is in the Wordpad format????

How can I stop this from happening? If I create in Word, I want it to remain as a Word document.

What do you mean? Both Wordpad and word use the DOC extension,,,,they are essentially the same format

When you say you go to open it, do you mean you double click it and it opens in wordpad?

I fiddled around with it and got it fixed...thanks anyway.
