how can i reformat windows 2000 dos won't let me

You cant format any NTFS partitions in DOS. You can either boot off the CD, and enter the Recovery Console, or make Windows 2000 Bootdisks (4 floppys needed). Hope that this helps.

Also make sure that you have your Windows 2000 Product Key, before you format or you will have a hard time reinstalling it later.
