Yes i do have acces to another pc and also my own i have reverted back to an old harddrive for now with windows xp install on it to try and solve this problem, but i do have access to other pc's,

i have tried the above but it doesn't seem to work? Just need something to recover specfic gfiles i know the harddrive isn't damaged because i did the a dos read write test prog i used from the company worked ok without error, i think its software related and that my be the cause if i could just some how fix it

you really should start your own thread and post your problem in your own words.

What may appear to be the same problem, may not be.

It can get confusing if the person who started the thread returns and problems get comingled/
