I'm pretty sure that the problem is with my sound card, I assume that that runs the mic input. I can get some input when everything is turned all the way up but even that is negligable. I'm using Realtec AC97 audio. I've tried other mics and they're all the same results. Is there anything I can do short of getting a new sound card, btw I'm just using the inegrated mobo sound.?

I had the same integrated audio (before I bought my XtremeMusic card) and I could in no way get it to register that I was speaking into my mic. Maybe someone else has a trick but Realtec did not even seem to acknowledge that it was even plugged in. So I went with a cheap $120 sound card (they come cheaper) because I'm a gamer and mic talking is critical to most of my games.
