I would just like to ask what the average spped for the CPU cooling fan is? mins is running at about 2150rpm and my CPU is averaging a temp of about 44*C. but whenever i run a program that take up alot of CPU like spybot it reaches tempretures in the 50's and my computer can freeze and restart.


Should i think about a new fan?

specs are:

CPU Type: Intel Celeron D 330, 2666 MHz (20 x 133)
RAM: 512
Power: 400w

I assume you have a stock CPU Cooler ??

i took the case of and it says its an intel.

Ok, we can find out by download a program called Everest Home from http://www.geekstogo...wdetails&f_id=9

Once you have downloaded and installed the program please follow these steps:

• Open up Everest Home
• On the start page there should be an icon saying "Motherboard", Click it
• Now another screen should come up with another icon saying "Motherboard", Click it
• Now scroll down the page until you find the heading "Motherboard Physical Info"
• There should be a part saying "CPU Sockets/Slots". Beside that it will tell you the socket of your motherboard

Please post your socket type in your next reply.

Ok download CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.com...d/cpu-z-134.zip

You dont need to install it, just make a new folder on the desktop and call it CPU-Z.

Un-Zip all of the contents of the download above into that folder and then run CPU-Z.


When the program is open, look on the first screen for the line "package". Beside this should be your socket type.

You may need to poke around a little bit in that Everest Home report. It should be there although it may not be intuitive. I just ran it on my system, under Motherboard , I click on CPU. I It says I have a socket 754 AMD clawhammer (yep, it is correct). Also under motherboard, it says package type 754 pin uOPGA. So look around and you should find the info.

So your problem is that your pc shuts down when you run some programs due to your processor becoming too hot?

Right, I think i will inform a hardware expert for this problem.

I would go for either Zalman Coolers or Arctic Cooling Coolers. These are the ones I have heard the best comments about.
