Hello, My computer will not play movies that are flash or quicktime.I have the newest version and i have never had a problem before. It appears on screen as a faded out quicktime symbol with a question mark.In other movies it shows up as a black box with an X in the top left of the screen.I have no clue haow to fix it so any input would help.

Your security settings may not allow you to view flash movies. See if lowering your security level helps. What browser are you using?

I use both.I use internet explorer for downloading things and mozilla firefox for just internet use.Movies dont play on either one unless they are .wmv format.

OK, since you're using IE for multimedia, downloads etc, try the following:

1. Go to "TOOLS" and select "Internet Options".

2. Click on the "ADVANCED" tab and scroll down to "Multimedia".

See if "Play videos and animations in webpages" are checked.

Try re-downloading Quicktime and Flash. Install them again and see if that helps. When did this problem start?

It could be that they removed a certain file during the repair process and you are now unable to view multimedia on the internet. You might want to call the company who fixed your machine and ask them what they removed.
