XP HOME" Device Manager" data missing

Windows XP home, install by Sony on Vio S360 opens a Device Manager window, but does not populate with any information. can I load, remair, find the app or do I have to relad from scratch?

Hi Terry07...

Is the PnP service started?

Click Start, then Run, type services.msc and click "Ok". Locate "Plug and Play" in the list...is it shown as "Started" under Status? Is the Startup Type set to "Automatic"?
