Hi hyeone...

Is Norton Ghost installed on the machine?

Are you able to enter Recovery Console by booting with the installation cd, or does it just start a recovery operation?

Is there a floppy drive on this machine or do you know someone with a retail version XP cd that you could borrow for a little while?

Not an install, we need to use the command prompt and may need some files from the cd.

Can you boot to Safe Mode by tapping on the F8 key during the boot sequence? If you can get to the options screen, try "Safe Mode"...if that doesn't work, try "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". Let me know if you can get to Safe Mode.
