Can't play WMV files

Hi, I can't play wmv files :whistling: It gives a codec erros saying that i don't have the necessery codec to play it.
I downloed xvid, ffdshadow, divx and ac3...

Whats wrong ?

I have Windows Media player 10.. The windows media player says : Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio or video portion of the file) because the Windows Media Video 8 (WMV2) codec is not installed on your computer.

I have already installed the codec.. The WM9Codecs file ...

And doesn't work...


This started after i install a pack of codecs ....

Isn't there a way to reinstall windows media player ? maybe would work

Edit: On radlight gives me this error # RLGB error : WM ASF Reader cannot be created

THe problem started when i installed this codec : http://www.free-code...CoDecS_Pack.htm

I got errors on those codecs

Usei a ferramente pa ver os codecs e dda problemas nestes : DSH Audio 3ivx D4 Audio Decoder {68D0B5CF-3EC6-4113-86DF-8A34456B3A0C} 0x00600000 ** File Missing:

If you go to add / remove, tick show updates, you can remove 10 to get 9 if system restore was on when you installed 10

You could try media player 11

Did you install the pack for media player 6.4

No i din't install media player 6.4

I did that but doesn't restore.

If you click remove media player 10 does it offer to roll back to version 9

You can repair XP, fair amount of work and time, or try media player 11 first, have system restore on if you try 11

I already tryed the system point restore. but there is only this day to restore to.. So o thing i will have to repair windows

The system restore needs to be turned on when you install media player 11, which is worth trying before the repair
