I have an Asus K8V-MX motherboard and lately I haven't been able to get any video signal at all. I took my computer in to the guy who set it up, and he said that the videocard I had put in, a Geforce 6600GT was not supported or compatible with my motherboard, and it was what had been causing the problems. I think this is a stupid question, but is there any truth to what he is saying about the video card not being compatible?

Unless the the card doesn't match the graphics port (AGP 4x/8x vs PCI-e), it would never be incompatible with the motherboard.
