well after i instaled battle field my comp start has changed and im thinking of refromating or w/e should i or should i not , cuase the start up is really odd like ill see my start bar and back rounds but not the icons till like 40 secs later

Hi there

It sounds like something which is being loaded at startup may be slowing the system down.
Can you go to Start->Run.. and type msconfig in the box, click <OK>

Let me know what you have listed in the Startup tab of msconfig.

cool but i jst uninstalled useless programs one of them must of been in the start up, cool tip know of any others like this?

So many i forget them all on a regular basis, read around XP has alot of neat hidden tricks.

Try third party, get Tuneup2006, i use it centralises alot of the tricks you need and makes em stick although it should anyway but does sometimes rever back, try tuneup there is a free trial which is really all you need to implement the fixes and optimisations.

Its similar yes but ive always found tuneup to be a little better, the changes persist even after the app is uninstalled.
