Civ III Shaky screen

Well yeah, im not sure if this should be in this forum, but it does relate to a video game. I had just installed my copy of Civilization 3, Play the World, and was starting to play, when i notice that my screen would shake, and I was wondering what I could do to fix this, seeing how,(to my utter disapointment), the game has no visual options to fix visual performance in the Preference menu.
