that's really old and only relevent to pre-windows 2000/xp

Yeh, it is old and not as frighting as what some of the malware does to your PC. :blink: I think I posted a link to this site long ago on some forum (this one maybe?? :help: ). I think most people get a little ticked off because they can't delete this file or read what it says. There are free apps, which will remove the index.dat file on a boot up, but usually it appears again. It was a drag and drop onto the icon type that I used for awhile. With loss of so much personal data by companies nowadays, I quit worrying about the stuff M$ is doing.
