For a few days now and several times a day, Microsoft
Word (Office 2003) fails and quits when I try to save or
close a document or when I try to exit the application.
Each time the following message appears:

The only time I tried "Retry", the application quit
anyway.
I have done all the updates of Microsoft Office & Windows XP

Any ideas about what might be going on and how to fix it?

It seems that there is a problem with your Office 2003 application itself. You can fix this by uninstalling your Office 2003, goto:

> Start
> Control Panel
> Click "Add or Remove Programs"
> Search on the list and select "Microsoft Office 2003" and then click the option "Remove"
> After the uninstall, restart your computer.

Once you have followed the steps, try re-installing your Office 2003 and let me know if your problem still persists.

I did this already. I removed Microsoft Office 2003 and re-installed it, but the error still occurs

Download Dial-a-fix from http://fileforum.bet...ll/1131569373/2

When you download it, double-click on it to extract all of its files. Then open the folder it creates. Double-click on the file called Dial-a-fix.

Put a check next to

Install Windows Script Host
Install VB6 runtime
Programming Cores/Runtimes
Object Linking Libraries (OLE)

Now click on GO at the bottom. The fix may take a while. Please be patient. Restart your computer when it is done.

Let me know if your problem still exists.

I have no Norton applications installed, I use AVG Free.

Start Internet Explorer. On the Tools menu, click "Internet Options". Under the "Advanced" tab, click to select the "Disable script debugging" check box...clear the "Display a notification about every script error" check box and click "OK".
