hello

i have recently begun having many popups from sites wanting me to install WIN ANTIVIRUS PRO.

i have also had many dialog boxes by my antivirus software (Anti VIR) about many trojan horses and such like

i have managed to clear many of them using the usual tools (spbot, spywareblaster, ad-aware) but these are not able to remove on file from the windows>system 32 folder
this file is: jkhfc.dll and is about 500kb, none of the software above recognises it, i have started using spyware-guard, and this recognises it as a BHO that has latched on to Internet Explorer. i have attempted many times to delete this file manually and using various programs (win-patrol and spyware-guard and trend micro housecall) but all of these attempts have failed as the following message is displayed:

Access denied as file is in use, please make sure the disk is not write protected and start again. but as i have found this file is in use most of the time, it has also messed around with my desktop (please see attatchement - look at the icons!!)

can anyone help??

thanks

ry

Please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
