Internet Explorer freezes

Hi,
While my e-mail works OK and I can get news etc. by clicking anything in My Yahoo, every time I try to use internet explorer it freezes ('not responding')... I couldn't even click 'my favorites - geeks2Go' without it freezing.

Using XP, IE 7+ (but this happened in 6.0 as well - I updated hoping it would go away). Same with trying to download HiJack This... I can download onto a flash disk or pocket HDD with no problem and load programs from there (using another computer of course).
