CD/DVD Playback in Media Player 10

A friend is having trouble playing back CD/DVDs in WMP 10. This occurred after office 2003 was installed. Audio and video is freezing/skipping in two different drives. I adjusted error correction and tried analog playback. I uninstalled and reinstalled WMP. I haven't uninstalled office yet. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.

under media player options make sure video accleration is set to full. also update your video drivers. Make sure you have installed all the microsoft patches as well.
