Hello everybody,
This is my first time here posting. I just discovered the site yesterday whle researching that pesky sysdup.dll issue. It looks like you have many satisfied "customers".. I would LOVE to become one as well.

Please help me with this problem. Norton anti virus found this but cannot do anything to remove or quarentine. I also noticed desktop.exe and ffisearch.exe. There may be even more...I do not know which is why I am asking for help. I have run all the steps up to posting the hijack this log. Adaware,Spybot, CWShredder and Norton. Here is my log:

Hi there,

Download the latest version of Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoft....pport/download/

After installing AAW, and before running the program.
Please be sure to update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp.net/howto/updref/

* Reboot into Safe Mode`: !! important !!
°To get into Safe mode as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu". Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the 'Scanning' button.
Under Drives, Folders and Files, select 'Scan within Archives'.
Click 'Click here to select Drives + folders' and select your installed hard drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the 'Advanced' button.
Under 'Log-file detail level', select all options.
Click the 'Tweaks' button.

Under 'Scanning Engine', select the following:
'Unload recognized processes during scanning.'
Under 'Cleaning Engine', select the following:
'Let Windows remove files in use after reboot.'
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.

Run the Ad-Aware scan and allow it to remove everything it finds.

Reboot back to normal mode and post a new hijackthislog.

Ok.. let's see what comes back afterwards...

One favor i need to ask. Could you zip the next folder and send it to me?
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Services <== this folder.
(miekiemoesATbluemedicine.be) AT=@

* Download and install CCleaner
Do not use it yet.

Download CWShredder. Don't let it run yet!

* Download HSFix.zip
Create a new folder on your desktop and give it the name HSFix
UNZIP the content from HSFix.zip to the new folder HSFix

* Download the trialversion of TrojanHunter
Update it, but don't let it scan yet!!

* Please set your system to show
all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

Hello and thanks again for the help. I went through your instructions and a few things seemed odd. I could not find the services folder in system32. I did have the show hidden folders checked also. There were no entries you asked me to check within hijack this for the followig: 04 HKLM|...run: [service host], 04 HKLM\..run:[svs service] svs.exe, 04 HKLM\..run: [gmpmgu C;program files\wydibsg\yxnq.exe, 021 -SSODL: system- {ce9c2244-db57-4cf1-a0ee-ce08fab7ba30} -sysw.dll

when trying to delete the 020- appinit_dlls:tebn6ec3js2jmj.dll.dll.dll etc... with hijack this, I got an error and forgot to write it down ..SORRY! I clicked through and everything continued on as planned.

when trying to delete files/folders there was no: Services folder in system32 and
no pckxcgcb.exe in system32 either

After everything was done and I tried to run the on line virus scan.... each time I clicked on Internet Explorer the system rebooted (confused). I could click on applications without a problem but not IE.

One more thing when running the HSFIX... the log file came up, I checked in task manager and the program was not running (only the logfile in notepad), so when I closed the notepad file, all the icons in safe mode were gone and I had to reboot to get back into safe mode with the icons so I could run Trojanhunter and ccleaner.

Each of those programs found many instances and I let them delete all they found.
I am stuck now because I cannot get IE to run. I am posting my next HiJack This log and the hslog.txt

Thanks again
Brian

Hello,

Well, that looks much better.
Weird when you open IE, your system reboots. You didn't delete anything i didn't ask?

Ok.. boot in SAFE mode now...

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O2 - BHO: IE Update Class - {5B4AB8E2-6DC5-477A-B637-BF3C1A2E5993} - C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\sysupd.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Desktop Search] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\desktop.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ffis] C:\WINDOWS\isrvs\ffisearch.exe
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.ysbweb.com (HKLM)
O18 - Filter: text/html - {950238FB-C706-4791-8674-4D429F85897E} - (no file)

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

* Reboot your system back to normal mode

Could you tell me what this is?

C:\Program Files\MX240a\MX240a_ftp_down.exe
C:\Program Files\MX240a\MX240a_AOL.exe

Also, if you can't open IE in normal mode, go afterwards again in safe mode, but choose the option with internetconnection. If that works, try to get another browser like firefox and try if that works to get on the internet in normal mode without rebooting.
When using firefox, try the next online scan:
http://fr.trendmicro...call_launch.php
Run adaware again too..

Restore your websettings: Go to start > controlpanel > Internetoptions > Tab Programs.
Click: "Restore Websettings"

When done, post a startuplist from hijackthis..
Open hijackthis > config > misc tools > generate startuplistlog.
check the boxes :' also list minor sections' and 'list empty sections'
