Windows ME-Monitor Display Properties

For the past week my computer monitor will display ONLY 640x480 16 colors. Each time I change the display to 256 colors it reverts to 16 colors.
Please help.

You need to install drivers for your video card because this sounds like the video drivers have been corrupted. If you do not know what you have for the video download everest home edition and run it. You may have to open the side cover to see what you have in the computer. If it is on-board video you need to look at the computer manufacturers website for drivers. Video card manufacturers usually have websites with drivers also. If you have a Nvidia video card you must uninstall the video drivers in add/remove programs before installing new drivers.
