formatting a laptop

i have a acer laptop, and it needs formatting but the only problem is that everything is built into the laptop so i havn't got a disk to format it with. can anyone tell me how to format it myself.

SO you never got a recovery disk or anything? That usually means that the recovery files are on a hidden partition on the hard drive and you would have to find out what key to press to activate the recovery... on hp/compaq it is usually f10 but I've also seen f12 on some machines ( not sure what the brand was ) try checking the manual or maybe call acer....
