Good morning - I'm having problems with pop-unders that will not go away - the URL for the pop-unders seems to almost always be thru ad.firstadsolutions.com.

I've tried (from the steps before posting HiJack This)

- CleanUp!
- Ad-Aware SE
- CWShredder
- Spybot S&D
- Ewido (safe mode)
- Panda Activescan (note: Trend Housecall did not work - errors on web page)
- TrojanHunter
- for AV, I used Symantec

One interesting thing that I've noticed is a couple of things that I can do that seem to make it worse (i.e. when doing either of these action, I get a pop-under about 3/4 of the time)
- changing the Windows theme
- hitting Fn-F7 to switch the screen to an external monitor or dual display

Here's my HiJackThis log

ok - i found something that was obviously a virus - there is a file
\program files\internet explorer\kybeq.html

This was installed in the registry as a desktop component seemed to be a javascript virus (executed a hard coded array in the .html file).

So, I delete the file and the registry keys.

And I have no pop-ups anymore.

The question I have now is - was that file supposed to be there and have different contents? Is there something else I need to get to a stable state?

Thanks, Mike
