Does anyone know if Intel intends to manufacture Core 2 Duo chips for Macs? Or if Mac intends to use them in their machines going forward? Thanks.

As far as i know they are switching over to them in another month or two, if you want a core 2 system though you can buy them from most laptop manufacturers at the moment they have been out for them for a little while now they get them before the official shipping date for boxed cpus.

Thanks for the info. I was specifically interested in the Core 2 Duo's implementation into the Apple line up. From what I read these chips are not yet available (July 27) and are a variation of the existing Intel line up.

They came out for retail buyers yesterday, they have been out since early july late June for selected OEM builders, I think it will be September for the apples to get core 2.
