Hello TeresaA:
Welcome to geeks2go, now could you provide a bit more info regarding your problem? Such as, when did this happen, any changes to the system prior to the problem What software are you using for burning, what brand of cd writer do you have what brand of cds are you using, etc. The type of cd's also matter, such as cd r or cd rw cd+r or cd-r. and are you burning data cd's or music cd's?
Sry to throw all these questions at you, but this will help to determine the problem.

Hi,
Thanks for the response.
This has been going on for awhile so I can't say if anything new has been added.
I just tried to get serious about trying to fix the problem since I'm trying to burn photo CD's and maybe that's my problem?
I'm using Maxell CD-R music pro CD's.
I've decreased the burn of the CD down to 8x because at one time we were getting an error message that lead my daughter and I to believe that we had the wrong speed cd?
The device type is
Phillips CDRW/DVD
Or is that my problem?
Can I only use RW CDs????
Thanks,
Teresa
PS This is a Dell Inspiron 6000 computer.

no. cdrw/dvd means you can burn cd rw and cd r and read dvds, Do you use nero as your burning software? because if you have nero you can use the nero drive info tool and it will tell you the speed of your drive, the supported type of media etc. you said that you installed and uninstalled it, what do you mean by that? did you physcially take the drive out? or did you reinstall windows? can you still read cds and dvds with the drive?
p.s. refresh your browser often so i can help you faster.

I just downloaded CD BurnerXP Pro and it came up with an unknown writing error.
I tried to uninstall the driver and then let it reinstall upon start up.

Download this file

http://www.dll-files....shtml?wnaspi32

Move it to this folder

C:\Windows\System32

If you do not have winzip, download and install extract now from my signature, install with the add to context menu option, right click the file you want to unzip, click extract to named folder, move it from there
