i have a wireless setup at my house.. and everytime i go on AIM or play online games.. my connection gets disconnected and then reconnected and this happens all the time.. do u guys have solutions to this problem?

Have you tried sitting right next to the wireless router to see if it is a distance/signal strength issue?

yup i can be right next to the stupid router (pardon my language) and its still a choppy connection!

My first thought is maybe bad hardware. Maybe your wireless network card needs to be reseated or it may just be going bad. Does your signal meter show the drop in signal when it happens?

ok so its a brand new laptop.. HP pavilion dv1000.. internal wireless card.. and my signal meter always tells me my connection has a signal strength of excellent when it happens so i dunno.. im thinking its the router
