This is the funniest thing.

A friend stopped by and wanted me to put some music on his MP3 player. He changed the settings in the MP3 player to MTP, autoset as per instructions, and I plugged it in the USB port. The computer said new hardware found, Sansa M230.

Then a box opened asking me to install it, I click the CD ROM, he also bought over the disk that came with it, it started and then stopped. Last box said cannot install this device.

A balloon opened during this saying that a USB 2.0 would make downloading faster and shown me my other ports. All my ports are USB 1.0. Could this be the case???

I have all the lastest updates from the Windows site and have scanned for any malware, didn't find anything.

He gave up. But it's puzzling me. Will try again tomorrow sometime.

Thanks for the help.

DUH!!!!

This getting old is getting old.

Changed the setting on the MP3 player, before hooking it up from auto select to MSC. The computer found it, installed it. As a removable drive.

I read the directions on the little booklet and it said to just drag the MP3s over the removable disk and presto.

Everything is working.

Thought I would post an answer on this.

Hope everyone has a great week. :whistling:
