Hi ya'll! I have windowsxp home, and I also have a trojan horse (found by avg). I cannot open Internet Explorer to download any fixes (wininet.dll is missing). I am using my son's laptop, and his cd burner is foobar, so I can't download from here to do any good. The question is: can this be fixed thru regedit or something similar,or possibly dos, or will this be a reload? I tried a system restore (you guessed it, no go) and I tried a non - destructive system recovery, well, here I am. I would like to fix this without reloading if possible, but I understand that may not be possible. I am not a novice at this kind of thing, but I also am not a pro! Can I repair windows from the cd?
