Sometimes you can move a file to a different folder and then be able to delete it. If that does not work you can use the moveonboot program to delete the file before the computer starts windows.

Neither of those worked. It wouldn't let me move the file and it said "invalid file name" when i tried to use moveonboot.

On any given file, in any given folder, there should always be more options than the ones you have there... Explorer may have been corrupted, I dunno... Might give a system restore a shot if I were you.

I think my friend accidentally downloaded it off of Limewire. Considering where he got it from, it probably isn't something I want.

Hi Andy62...

The image you posted is pretty small for these old eyes of mine, but that sure looks like a long file name to me...too long. Have you tried renaming the file and then deleting or moving it?

System restore didn't work. I went back a day and a half before it showed up and somehow it stuck around. I also tried renaming but it wont let me do that either. Sorry the picture is kinda small, I tried making it larger but the image hosting website I used wouldn't let me.

well it could be part of another program that downloded through limewire

i had one similar at one time but it came through a profile i was checking
i could get rid of it matter i even drag it to my desktop and tried to
drop it from there but to no avail but i did go to malware for some thing else and
that file well lets say the experts there made it disappear

what im saying it was a small annoying file but it was part of a much larger one

lime wire is bad.......... you can block its cookies if you want

if you dont use it that is

See if the malware experts can get it...

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions found there.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself...then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum. Be patient, the Malware Forum is a very busy place and a two or three day wait is not unusual. DO NOT REPLY TO OR BUMP YOUR OWN LOG. If it shows a reply it may be overlooked as one that is being worked on.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
