I have an xbox 360 and i am looking to hook my computer up with the windows media center. So far I've gathered that it is an OS and I have a general knowledge of computers etc. and i think im capable of upgrading my main question is what all do i need to do it. (discs etc.) The computer we bought is from futureshop so im not sure what we have for in the way of discs so i want to make sure I have what I need before i order a 130 dollar OS. The other question is will upgrading the OS delete my files etc. Do I need to backup anything....

Thanks in advance for the help :whistling:

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 is an operating system that is only available on Media Center PCs. Because of special hardware requirements, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PCs are available only from Microsoft PC Manufacturer partners.

Okay thanks. That leads me to a new question. In the near future sometime (I hope) I'm going to be custom building a computer. Is there a way I can get the hardware so i can run media center OS on it. Like buying a specific motherboard or something...?

Thanks for the help! :whistling:
