hello everyone,

My PC has become extremely slow and I can't figure out why! I scanned for viruses, malware, spyware etc and removed everything, restarted the PC, and it's still very slow.

I ran Cleanup, disk defragmenter, the works, but it didn't work.

please help me, i think i'm gonna go mad!!!!! :whistling:  :help:

well if you cleaned, defragment. and no internet connection problem

and your not stating when it started to slow down was just recently or how much ram you got

did it start after a recent software or hardware installment

without being more specific all that can be said is you should be posting a post in the malware forum

along with your hijack log

how much memory or ram sticks / modules you have

perhaps your pc demanding more ram

do you have programs that run at startup

when did your computer really show signs of slowing down
before or after your new modem

first all. Hello, i hope my sugestions can help you.

1 check the size of RAM MEMORY , Sometimes one ram fail and other work , the windows work slowly

2 check bios battery, the speed of procesor change to default , if you have 500 mhz , it change to 200 and cause change speed to slowest.

3. verify the speed of fan procesor.maybe overheat can put slow the machine

4. run the norton utilities from cd , without install , use windoctor. maybe help you

if you have lan, verify the good working , if lan are slow , the windows slow too

try this and see if it helps

1.start
2.run
3.type cmd and click ok
4.type chkdsk /r on the cmd window
5.a messege saying that it chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process, just type Y and press enter
6.restart your computer
7.after it boots up it will start checking your hard drive for damaged sectors. just leave it scanning.
8.when finished do the same except that this time on the cmd window type chkdsk /f

sometimes when your computer has damaged sectors it will run extreamly slowbecause it cannot read system files correctly. using the above commands does not ensure that your problem will be fixed but it atleast will try to repair as many sectors as it can.

let me know if your pc performance improved ..............
