I've used google to find out about this and ppl have recommended divx codec and k-lite codec but none of them seem to work. I installed them restarted my computer no luck.

go here and follow the instructions. it will tell you what codec you need.
I recomend http://free-codecs.com/ as a starting point when you go looking for the codec. It is a reliable place to download codecs like klite.

i've downloaded and installed so many codecs already 1 by one and still no luck...

oops. sorry about that, my link didn't show up. I would recomend removing all of the codecs you have installed.
