Are you able to start Firefox in Safe Mode? There should be a shortcut in the Mozilla Firefox folder under Start | All Programs. If not, type:
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode
Just make sure that the folder and drive letter are correct for your computer. Firefox's Safe Mode just uses the default theme and disables all extensions and add-ons.

Did you install or update any new extensions, toolbars, add-ons, etc. right before this happened? Also, update Firefox and all extensions, toolbars, etc. and restart it.
