Heya,

I only just upgraded my computer recently and am unfamiliar with the new sata setup, here are my problems...

1) My HDD is a SATA 2 Western Digital 320 gb, yet xp only recognises it as a 127 gb hard drive. I was told about installing the drivers before setup by pressing f6, only to find that that required a floppy drive that I don't have :whistling:

2) whenever I try to run a self extracting program (i.e msn messenger setup) windows tells me the following error: Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file. I have 2 x 512 mb Kingston Hyperx ram.

Any help would be great, if you need any more infomation, please post it here.

Thanks,
Quintin

Need at least Service Pack 1 installed and you need to install XP from a CD that already has at least Service Pack 1 "built in" to it.
See here for how to make one:

2) Too many temporary files Windows doesn't like. Empty the lot - C:\Documents and Settings\<your user name>Local Settings\Temp - and also C:\Windows\Temp.
