broadband connection problems

Hi

I had Broadband connected 2 nights ago and an error message appeared which unfortunately I didn't pay much attention to, but I think it mentioned system32 encountered a problem ?!? ever since my broadband connection doesn't work. The DSL connection seems to connect for approx 5 seconds, then disconnects and connects again for 5 seconds then disconnects etc...

I tried uninstalling the broadband software and re loading, but it is still the same (it is BT Broadband basic 2mb). when I re installed I got an error message 'Motive Chorus client has encountered a fatal error', don't know if this is connected. I don't think this is a hardware error as has been working fine for a year....anyone any ideas? Thanks
