I have an old HP 4 laserjet workhorse that continues to work fine other than with my new Dell E1405 laptop.
When I try to set this printer as the default printer, the print spooler cycles between start/stop until the system crashes and I get the IRQL blue screen error message.
The system runs fine as long as the printer is not set as the default.
I have tried downloading updated drivers with no affect. System is XP Pro.
I had the same configuration on a Dell 700m, and never had a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bo
