"Disc is not empty or rewritable, please insert an empty disc or rewritable disc, and then press 'OK' "

Its a Blank DVD-R so why is this message coming up?

Could it be the brand of DVD-R's?

What brand are the discs? A few are known for this type of thing--especially Memorex. I've had a few problems like this with TDK discs, too.

If you're using discs with the "white only" face (basically just white, no-brand) than you shouldn't be using them. They suck a lot. Buy HQ DVDRs like Sony or Rioch.

In my expernice I was mass backing up my comp with the "no-brands" my dad bought, only 23 out to 50 worked. The others either didn't want to work or failed burning.
