windows could not start because file is missing or corrupt <windows root>\system32\hal.dll please re-install copy of the above file did not come with reboot disk but software to make recovery disk tried to boot with disk but does not seem to read it you can hear the drive spin but nothing happens usually get message operating system not found or error loading operating system any suggestion thanks

You tried to boot from a disk. Did you set the primary boot device to that disk drive in your BIOS settings?

i cant do anything when it starts up i get a blue screen with message operating system not found iam not very computer litterate i donot know how to do a whole lot
