i just got a used thinkpad 760el with no ac adapter. How upgradable are they? can I install a dvd rom? what will be the best os I can install on it?

Hi mrgoo1, welcome to GeeksToGo!

I think the best os to install will be windows 98se or something like knoppix or xandros. I don't think you can install a dvd rom on this machine.
