How to just wipe out operating system

my sons computer caught something, in anycase we want to just wipe it out and start fresh. anyone with steo by step instructions?

get yourself a dos boot disk, boot with it, run fdisk

choose DELETE partitions, follow the prompts to delete

Remove boot disk, reboot with your Windows CD.

Windows will detect there is no parition and will walk you through creating one, formatting, and installing
