Dialer.Kotu , WinPro Antivirus & Adult Site Pop-ups Infection

Hi there,
I have been having some real problems with my computer recently. Since two days ago Norton Antivirus would pop-up countless times with a high-risk dialer.kotu infection alert. I follow the removal option each time and it still keeps re-appearing. So I took is a step further and found a file under /system32 which I believe caused the problems. I used Unlocker to delete the file as it would come up with the windows "protected" sign. So, that file was deleted and one in quarantine. As of now I havn't come up with a Norton alert for the dialer.kotu, but I did have one pop-up a 1/2 hr ago which indicated that it had found 16 similar items in wma extension as well, so I followed removal steps.

As I was browsing through my Norton AV log I noticed that the dialer was placed here if I'm not mistaken:

C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-311933711-833548973-2039884519-1008\Dc208.exe

The Dc208.exe had multiple similar files that increased by one number each step. The log indicates that Norton Antivirus has DETECTED it, not removed. So should I be worried?

I have also run Spybot S&D as well as VundoFix.

Now, as if the dialer.kotu wasn't enough of a headache, I'm getting these WinPro Antivirus pop-ups as well as adult site pop-ups. I definately wasn't stupid enough to download the software but need it to be removed as it is slowing down my system. I ran Norton AV and Spybot S&D and both indicate my system is clean, yet the pop-ups continue. I have Norton's pop-up blocker enabled and yet they still apper, so I am assuming there is a major browser hijacking as well.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a fresh HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.
