Downloading Stuffs To External Hdd But...

Downloading stuffs to external HDD but my C drive seems to be reducing in size everytime i download. I tried searching my comp with the file name i downloaded, cant be found anywhere apart from the external driver.

Im using Opera to download if it helps.

Downloaded files are stored locally on the main hard drive of the PC (and copied to their downloaded source, in your case your external drive) until you clear the cache in Opera. Therefore if you download six 300Mb files and don't delete the internet cache, those files will still be there taking up space.
