Hello,

I have fairly new HP computer (Win XP) that has run out of the complimentary Symnatec subscription. The program is still operating/checking, but the updating of files is no longer functioning. I see programs to download thru Geeks, several I had on my Win98 computer. Should I just delete Symnatec (how?) and download those recommended on Geeks?

Hey there bamakodaker.

Uninstall Symantec:

Once you have uninstalled Norton I would advise you to use Geeks To Go Recommended Software, you wont turn a wrong corner.

Cool :whistling:

Much thanks for advice. I've deleted Symnatec.

I'm still looking for those Preferred Softwares!

Thanks for the AVG link. I already have that. It seems when I was in Win98 that ADMIN had thread at top of list for Preferred Software. A list for checking/clearing Trojans, Virus, Worms, tuning up, clearing out - just all the software one really should have to help avoid problems before they became problems! I wish they had that in XP!
