Run hijack this and put check marks next to these:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u

O8 - Extra context menu item: Download all with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dlall.htm
O8 - Extra context menu item: Download selected with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dlselected.htm
O8 - Extra context menu item: Download with Free Download Manager - file://C:\Program Files\Free Download Manager\dllink.htm

Reboot.

Update Ewido and run that and give me the results. Then provide me with a new hijack this log. :whistling:

ok..... i've concluded i need to get rid of ishost.exe isnotify.exe issearch.exe and ismini.exe. i believe these may be whats causing the ad popups. the "virus found" message from AVG is gone yay.... but i have a huge increase in popups. it is no longer limited to antivirus popup scams but now it pops up with 'visit our sponsors' and the likes... speaking of which i'm gonna close one rightnow. no im not looking for sex in this city. a few questions about hijackthis. the numbers... what do they mean. i have concluded they are code for the diferent types of files and programs. just curious on what they mean. i tried ad-aware again and it crashed my comp again. is there a way to restrict web access to certain programs. if so id like to restrict it from the is...exe programs and see if that helps. then we can work on getting those gone. i noticed

hold on nother popup

the only entry with the number 016 looks like its an installer of some sort... this i dont think is good.

what am i doing other than pestering you with noob questions your the expert lol. ok im prolly wrong in my head lol.

*slightly off topic
how come every time i hit the apostophy button my mozilla search (like find on this page search not web search) pops up?

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download AproposFix from here:
http://swandog46.gee.../aproposfix.exe

Save it to your desktop but do NOT run it yet.

Then please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click aproposfix.exe and unzip it to the desktop. Open the aproposfix folder on your desktop and run RunThis.bat. Follow the prompts.

When the tool is finished, please reboot back into normal mode, and post a new HijackThis log, along with the entire contents of the log.txt file in the aproposfix folder.

ok.... so l left my comp running while i slept o see if there would be any popups while i sleep. i woke up thismorning and thought... sweet it worked. but then i double clicked mozzilla to tell you guys this and 68 internet explorer windows popped up witht the "webpage cannot be displayed" screen and before i could close any of them.... they disappeared. if this happens again i'll let you know...

also
issearcch.exe
ishost.exe
isass.exe
ismini.exe
isnotify.exe

are still running

and guard.exe i've never seen before.

just now i got a new tab openned while i was typing (the computer did it not me) and it just was a blank white screen.

i'm guessing that the program you had me run restictd web access from one of the programs but the program is still here openning windows.... just a thought

THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR STICKING WITH ME AND HELPING ME OUT I'VE ALREADY MADE YOUR WORK LOAD GET BIGGER THO CUZ I'VE ADVISED YOU GUYS TO ALL MY FRIENDS LOL

OK. I think we're getting somewhere.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe
http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe,
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

Are you running THIS program?

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.
  • Save it to your desktop.

    Don't run it yet.

You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

Please save Hijack This in a permanent folder (i.e. C:\HJT). This ensures backups are saved and accessible.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - AutorunsDisabled - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ikrfind.dll] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ikrfind.dll,buptmcd

  • Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
  • Select:
    • Delete on Reboot
    • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ksrpmje.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ixt0.dll
