New member here....

I'm trying to use nero 6 cover designer to burn an image onto a lightscribe dvd. I can set up the label the way I want it, but I have no option in the file menu to use lightscribe. Here are some screen shots of what I see.

This is what I see when I click on "file". I've read that there should be an option for printing with lightscribe.

This is what I see when I click on file>preferences. It shows that I can set up lightscribe the way I want, but there isn't a default drive. I don't get it. I've used lightscribe with sonic, but I didn't like the way it burned so I want to try Nero.

Welcome to Geeks to Go! :whistling:

Looks like it's not able to identify your drive. Do you have the latest update for Nero? If so, have you checked for a firmware update for your drive?

Thank you.

I actually started a new thread in the Applications forum on this subject and keith has been working with me on it. We never could resolve anything though. I can use Express Labeler and Surething. Nero just won't recognize it......

I updated the firmware, but still no recognition with Nero.

fyi - make sure if you are installing an OEM version - that you specifically use the registration code that came with a lightscribe enabled drive. I have a system with two DVD writers - a LIteOn and an Optiarc - only the latter has lightscribe capabilities. You are able to get the latest Nero v6 software components from the Nero site. When you install package 1 - make sure to use the proper registration code - e.g. If you use the code from a non-lightscribe OEM version - you won't be able to see the lightscribe options - exactly as this user pointed out.

Sometimes people seek help on an issue - years after the original posting. This may help someone. Ver 6 OEM does everything you really need for making DVD's.
