Desktop Loading Problems

Recently, I'm not really sure when, my computer started having problems loading up the desktop. This started happening 3 days ago - but I haven't rebooted since then, for almost a week. But since then, I've rebooted every time.

Basically, the welcome screen will display, but it stays there. There is no activity, or anything at all. But once I press Control/Alt/Delete together, it will play the loading sounds and load as normal.

Is there something wrong with my software?
