Hey guys,
How can i chnage the default Office Paper Size to A4. It is currently set to Letter. evertime i create a new document i have to manually set the paper size to A4?

Hi I have changed file -page setup- paper- paper size A4, and clicked default, but file-print- printer-properties-advanced- paper size is Letter. I change to A4 click ok,no option to make default from this screen, and for that document, printing is OK. But when I go back in to Word at a new time I have to reset the Letter to A4 to get my printer to print or apply a reset to my printer, that diplays a PC load error. My printer is HP laser Jet 4 plus

The paper Size Manager for Word 2003 is stored inside a template called Normal.dot
Normal.dot serves as the default template used whenever you start Microsoft Word. The default paper size is Letter or 8.5 x 11 inch.

To change the default paper size you have to edit the default template which is the Normal.dot
Follow the steps to edit the normal.dot:
1. Open Microsoft word
2. Click Open icon and paste "%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates" (withouth the qoutes) inside the filename textbox.
3. Select Normal.dot and click file > page setup > click on page tab > change the paper size to A4 then click okay > save then close MS word.
4. You are done. From now on, your default paper size for word is A4

IT WORKED!!!

I am using MS Word 2010. hias what I did

1 Open folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
2 Open Normal.dotm
3 Change page orientation to A4 or any preferred size
4 Save document as x.dotm in the same folder as (1)
5 Open folder C:\Users\alfana.ali\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates
6 Delete Normal.dotm
7 Save x.dotm as Normal.dotm
8 Whallah

I think it's A4 format by default in such office programs.
