Hi :)

Before I bore or irate you, i'll be upfront & say to you I'm pretty much a Newbie , when it comes to P.C s & Women :)

Anyhow ,as stated on your forum rules /guides , I have do everything you said to do, please use "KID GLOVES " I'm a Star Trek geek not P.C geek ;)

Problem - When I try to log/use Google.com , I'm immedaitely sent to a similar site called GOOGL. This site is simple false & directs me to xxx sites. ( wouldnt be a problem, but you have to pay to view those sites :tazz: )

Things done, before posting on this forum

1) Adware - has gone thorugh a full scan

2) Spybot - Has gone thorugh a full scan

3) Spywaerblaster added to p.c for protection

4) CW Shredder - Claims that My p.C is free from CWS

5) I have been on Trend (housecall online) = 0 virus detected

6) Panda online check = results below

Adware:Adware/Gator No disinfected
C:\DOCUME~\me\LOCALS~\Temp\bundle.inf
Spyware:Spyware/ISTbar No disinfected
C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\TotemShared
Adware:Adware/CWS.Aboutblank No disinfected
C:\WINDOWS\system\ienb.dll.xpy
Adware:Adware/CWS.Aboutblank No disinfected C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe

Please tell me how to find /get rid of these esp the Bundle.inf file (where is it?)

Next I used Hijack This , I have enabled all the Msconfig settings back to what it was.

Hi FatalFury

Please post a new HJT.log don't space it out like you have done it makes it harder to read.

If you had not edited your log this reply would have been the first fix.

Thanks

Hi FatalFury

Welcome to geekstogo!

Please download Ad-aware Se

vx2 cleaner add on tool

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {D216E4B7-91DD-4BB2-9F28-1FDD92B714DB} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\ienb.dll (file missing)

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ienb.dll (file missing)

Exit Explorer.

Please download Ad-aware Se

vx2 cleaner add on tool

1. If you have a previous version of Ad-Aware installed, during the installation of the new version you will be prompted to uninstall or keep the older version - be sure to uninstall the previous version.
2. After installing Ad-aware, you will be prompted to update the program and run a full scan. De-select all boxes so that it does not run.
3. Manually run "Ad-Aware SE Personal" and from the main screen Click on "Check for Updates Now".
4. Once the definitions have been updated:
5. Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan as per the following instructions:
* Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.
* Under General Settings the following boxes should all be checked off: (Checked will be indicated by a green circle with a check mark in it, Un-Checked is a red circle with an X in it. If it is greyed out, those features are only available in the retail version.)
o "Automatically save logfile"
o Automatically quarantine objects prior to removal"
o Safe Mode (always request confirmation)
o Prompt to update outdated confirmation) - Change to 7 days.
* Click the "Scanning" button (On the left side).
* Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives"
* Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard drives.
* Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
* Click the "Advanced" button (On the left hand side).
* Under "Shell Integration", select "Move deleted files to Recycle Bin".
* Under "Log-file detail", select all options.
* Click on the "Defaults" button on the left.
* Type in the full url of what you want as your default homepage and searchpage e.g. http://www.google.com.
* Click the "Tweak" button (Again, on the left hand side).
* Expand "Scanning Engine" by clicking on the "+" (Plus) symbol and select the following:
o "Unload recognized processes during scanning."
o "Obtain command line of scanned processes"
o "Scan registry for all users instead of current user only"
* Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
o "Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion."
o "During removal, unload explorer and IE if necessary"
o "Let Windows remove files in use at next reboot."
o "Delete quarrantined objects after restoring"
* Click on "Safety Settings" and select "Write-protect system files after repair (Hosts file, etc)"
* Click on "Proceed" to save these Preferences.
* Click on the "Scan Now" button on the left.
* Under "Select Scan Mode, be sure to select "Use Custom Scanning Options".
6. Close all programs except ad-aware.
7. Click on "Next" in the bottom right corner to start the scan.
8. Run the Ad-Aware scan and allow it to remove everything it finds and then REBOOT - Even if not prompted to.
9. After you log back in, Ad-Aware may run to finalize the scan and remove any locked files that it may of found. Allow it to finish.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:
Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.
Let the system reboot.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm

Please post the logs From Panda virus scan and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Hi FatalFury

Welcome to geekstogo

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Uninstall0001] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Totem Shared\Uninstall0001\upd.exe" LASTCALL!adverts.virtuagirl.com!StatsVirtuaGirl
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Totem Shared<--Delete the whole folder

Exit Explorer,

Empty your recycle Bin = C:\Recycled
C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe

Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure all are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Reboot your Pc.

Download the ccleaner
I use this Program and have it setup like this all boxs are check. Click on auto-startup.
Run the program this will clear out a lot off junk files and I do mean a lot.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp

The next step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

Please post the logs From both virus scans and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Hi Thatman :)

URGENT..URGENT....

I'm so sorry for not replying sooner, I have been in hospital - I fell of my ladder & landed on my Tailbone , thus compacting my backbones - the pain was aful :)

I only came back yesterday & this was my first chance to check up on your last reply. Having read your reply i have done the following ........
1) Deleted the relevant files in Hijack this ;)
2)Cleaned out temporary & tif files in cleanmgr & ccleaner ;)
3)Downloaded Winxp service pack 1 :)

problems though.......

1) STILL could not find
Empty your recycle Bin = C:\Recycled C:\Recycled\Q330995.exe - I cannot see this file, although once the hiiden view files is off , I can see a recycle bin, there is nothing within the bin to delete , Do I delete the hidden recycled bin ? also i could not find C:\Program Files\Common Files\Totem Shared<--Delete the whole folder, where is this ?

2) Adware discovered 2 trogans on my p.c ie PSW.Hooker.D & Clicker.7.bk
however I think adware safely removed these, but they corrupted 2 of my system restore dates ..I think !

MAJOR PROBLEM HAS DEVELOPED ...... :tazz:

1) My recycle bin, no longer operates. Any items sent to the bin whether right click delete or drag the item to the recycle bin , the item simply vanishes without a trace. It does not show up in the recycle bin. ( I'am aware of the properties option on the recycle bin & that is unchecked, the files are not supoosed to be deleted immediately) what happens to these files, where do they go & more importantly can you help me to fix that problem, i do not know if i deleted something by mistake please help

Hi FatalFury

Welcome ;) my arse hurts to no end

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Download CW-Shredder at the link below:
CWShredder
Run CW-Shredder - Hit the FIX button - let it run and fix what it finds.

Please set your system to show {br}all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Image] rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\d3iu32.dll,Install
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [sp] C:\WINDOWS\sp.exe

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\WINDOWS\d3iu32.dll<--Delete this file
C:\WINDOWS\sp.exe<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.

Copy & paste the text in bold below into notepad and save it as recyclerem.bat
(Set filetype to "All Files")

attrib -r -s -h %systemdrive%\Recycler
del %systemdrive%\Recycler
attrib -r -s -h %systemdrive%\Recycled
del %systemdrive%\Recycled
shutdown /r /t 0 /f

Close all programs and doubleclick recyclerem.bat

Your computer will reboot and you will have a shiny new (empty) recycle bin. rear end only ;)

Please run the following free, online virus scans.
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
Please post the logs From Panda virus scan and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.
