A few days ago after an 8 hour marathon of DVDs, my dvd-rw drive began messing up. At first it wouldn't allow me to go to vertain chapters of my dvds from the chapter selection menu,, then it just shut down on me. Now whenever close the drive (DVD in it or not) it makes clicking noises for half a minute or so then stops. No DVDs will play, and I must have tried at least 20. My tower is a Dell XPS (1st gen, I believe), and I'm running windows XP with SP2. In my device manager, it tells me the drive is "_NEC DVD+RW ND-2100AD".

Edit: I found out from the website that mine is a gen 2, not 1
