Hi, i'm pretty unfamiliar with these forums and how they work, but heres my problem.
When i go to log into windows i try to enter my password and they keyboard does not respond. the mouse works fine. i've got a password and i'm unable to log onto my comp because my keyboard doesnt work. i have no idea what to do... please help me, i'm desparate!

try to unplug your keyboard and plug it in another ubs port

switch it around

its not a usb, i tried to unplug it and plug it back in. tried another keyboard and nothing seems to work. is there anyway to get around the password?

Without the keyboard working, there would be no point trying to navigate around the password anyways.

turn the CP off and on then hear for the beeps





BEEP CODES:

No beep:Short,No power,Bad CPU/MB,Loose Peripherals
One Beep:Everything is normal and Computer POSTED FINE
TwO Beeps:POST/CMOS Error
One long Beep,One Short Beep:Motherboard Problem
One long Beep,two Short Beeps:Video Problem
One long Beep,three Short Beeps:Video Problem
Three Long Beeps:Keyboard Error
Repeated Long Beeps: Memory Error

Continous Hi-Lo Beeps:CPU Overheating



1 short beep
Normal POST - system is ok

2 short beeps POST Error - error code shown on screen
No beep Power supply or system board problem

Continuous beep Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem
Repeating short beeps Power supply or system board problem

1 long, 1 short beep System board problem

1 long, 2 short beeps Display adapter problem (MDA, CGA)

1 long, 3 short beeps Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA)

3 long beeps 3270 keyboard card

if ur usin win xp u can easily use On-Screen Keyboard

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Accessibilty > On Screen Keyboard

homekeys and I have been looking into this problem in chat. The keyboard works in Safe Mode, but isn't loading quick enough to satisfy the password request.

Device has been uninstalled from Device Manager
Prefetch has been purged and keyboard uninstalled again

Still fails to load in Normal Mode.

Try booting into the Safe Mode Administrator account and remove your password. Then reboot and see it the keyboard fully loads.

After removing the password, the keyboard loads as normal.

Issue resolved.... :whistling:
